Giphoscope n° 12 | The Public Domain Review Collection | december 2013

The Giphoscope n° 12 - created in collaboration with The Public Domain Review and sold through the PDR Store - displays an Animated GIF of two nude blacksmiths hammering, created from the first and third line of images on Plate 377 in: Muybridge, Eadweard (1887). Animal Locomotion: an Electro-photographic Investigation of Consecutive Phases of Animal Movements, 1872-1885. Vol. II: Males (nude). Sold to a private collector in Somerville, MA, USA.

 

Giphoscope n° 11 | The Public Domain Review Collection | december 2013

The Giphoscope n° 11 - created in collaboration with The Public Domain Review and sold through the PDR Store - displays an Animated GIF excerpted from Bicycle Trick Riding, a 38” film dated March 20th, 1899 by Thomas A. Edison, showing perhaps the first ever footage of a bicycle trick. Sold to a private collector in Somerville, MA, USA.

The Giphoscope n° 6 was created upon request as a Christmas Gift, and displays an animated GIF of a little baby, excerpted from an iPhone video. Destination: Herford, Germany.

 

Giphoscope n° 5 | Buzzfeed | december 2013

The Giphoscope n° 5 was created upon request for our first client, Buzzfeed, and displays the first animated GIF ever posted to the site. Owner: Buzzfeed, New York, US.

 

Giphoscope n° 4 | OKKULT Motion Pictures | november 2013

It's the first Giphoscope displaying an original animated GIF by our brainchild OKKULT Motion Pictures. The frame is in polished aluminium for the main elements and matte for the corners, with wooden base in authentic italian walnut.

 

Giphoscope n° 3 | Erdal Inci | november 2013

Tailor made Giphoscope for world famous GIF artist Erdal Inci from Istanbul, Turkey.

The animated GIF mounted is titled 'Hierapolis Amphitheatre , Pamukkale , 2013'.
The frame structure is in matte aluminium, with corners in gold aluminium. Support made of italian walnut. 

 

Giphoscope n° 2 | Scorpion Dagger | october 2013

The third Giphoscope displays another work from GIF master Scorpion Dagger. In this case, we used golden aluminium for the main elements of structure, polished aluminium for the corners and golden screws to mount them together;  the wooden support is made of authentic italian walnut and it's thinner than the previous versions (2 cm vs 3,5). Lastly, we created a small aluminium plate with Giphoscope logo.

 

Giphoscope n° 1 | Scorpion Dagger | august 2013

Builted for canadian GIF artist Scorpion Dagger, this Giphoscope benefits from a substantial improvement: the introduction of the ball bearings for the crank, now so much fluid; the metal structure has been created with two kind of aluminium: polished aluminium for the main elements, and black for the 'corners'. 
The Giphoscope is in Scorpion Dagger's hands in Montreal, Canada, ready to be exhibited and selled.
 

 

Edweard Muybridge GIPHOSCOPE | june 2013

After several prototypes, this is our first, working Giphoscope.
The animated GIF mounted is excerpted from an Edweard Muybridge Plate. 
The frame structure is in matte aluminium, with 4 screws for the corners and support in wood.
